Moving Silence - 6 December 2013

Σε συνέχεια της μεγάλης επιτυχίας του Moving Silence στην Κύπρο το 2011 και 2012 στο ίδρυμα ARTos, το Moving Silence πραγματοποιείται φέτος για τρίτη συνεχή χρονιά σε συνεργασία με το Ινστιτούτο Γκαίτε στα πλαίσια του 5ου X-Dream Festival. Την Παρασκευή 6 Δεκεμβρίου 2013 στις 8:30 μ.μ. στο ίδρυμα ΑRTοs, μουσικοί και συνθέτες από Γερμανία, Ελλάδα και Κύπρο θα συναντηθούν για να ερμηνεύσουν ζωντανά στο κοινό μουσική που συνέθεσαν ειδικά για ταινίες χωρίς ήχο σύγχρονων δημιουργών της επιλογής τους. Οι θεατές θα έχουν μια μοναδική εμπειρία όπου οι μουσικοί ερμηνεύουν ζωντανά τη μουσική τους ενώ γίνεται παράλληλη προβολή της ταινίας που επέλεξαν, που τους ενέπνευσε για το κομμάτι που ερμηνεύουν. Θα πραγματοποιηθούν επίσης παραστάσεις με μοναδικά αυτοσχέδια και μη-συμβατικά μουσικά όργανα.  "O σύγχρονος κινηματογράφος μπορεί να ανακτήσει την εκφραστική ελευθερία του” λένε τα μέλη του Moving Silence. "Κάθε ύφος εικόνας μπορεί να ωφεληθεί από τη γλώσσα του ήχου, ψηφιακού ή αναλογικού. Οι ζωντανές παραστάσεις ενισχύουν τα φιλμ καθώς οι μουσικοί μπορούν να φέρουν μια νέα πνοή ζωής στον βωβό κινηματογράφο, που δυστυχώς έμεινε σιωπηλός για πολύ καιρό”. Ενθαρρύνοντας τη συνεργασία και ανταλλαγή μεταξύ μουσικών, καλλιτεχνών και κινηματογραφιστών, και αφήνοντας χώρο στο ζωντανό αυτοσχεδιασμό, η πλατφόρμα Moving Silence καλεί το κοινό να έρθει σε επαφή με νέες οπτικοακουστικές εμπειρίες, όπου ο ήχος και η εικόνα θα συναντηθούν με με ασυνήθιστο και απροσδόκητο τρόπο. Η πλατφόρμα κινηματογραφιστών και μουσικών Moving Silence ιδρύθηκε το 2009 στο Βερολίνο από τον μουσικό Marco Brosolo, τον κινηματογραφιστή Matthias Fritsch και τον παραγωγό Federico Bassetti με με σκοπό να συνδέσει τις ρίζες του κινηματογράφου με την αισθητική της σύγχρονης εικόνας, τη ζωντανή παραγωγή μουσικής και πιθανές νέες τεχνολογίες. On Friday 6 December 2013 at 20:30 at the ARTos Foundation musicians and composers from Germany, Greece and Cyprus will meet to perform live soundtracks for video and film works without sound by contemporary creators of their choice. The audience will have a unique experience where the musicians-composers perform live their music while the films/videos that ave inspired them are simultaneously screened. On the same evening performances with unique self-made and non-conventional instruments will take place. "The contemporary cinema could take back this expressive freedom" the Moving Silence members state. "Any visual style can profit from a sound language, by using advanced digital technologies as well as old analog techniques. Live performances sustain and amplify the films as musicians can breathe new life into silent cinema, which inappropriately remained silent for such a long time." Encouraging collaboration and exchange between musicians, artists and cinematographers, the Moving Silence platform therefore invites the Nicosia audience to new audiovisual experiences expressed through live improvisations and interpretations, where experimental image and sound are expected to meet in unusual and unexpected ways. Moving Silence was originally founded in summer 2009 by the musician Marco Brosolo, filmmaker Matthias Fritsch and producer Federico Bassetti with the aim to create events that connect the roots of cinematography with the present aesthetics of image, the live music production and the potential of new technology. It constitutes a poetic, intercultural and collaborative attempt in times of information overload. It embraces experimentation and merging between contemporary forms of visual and sound inviting artists from different parts of the world to join in. Speakers TRIBE SEASTATION: UTOPIA IN TRANSITION: WHAT IS TRANSITORY ART?

Markus Jeschaunig, born 1982 in Graz (Austria), graduated 2010 in architecture at University for art & design Linz (Austria) and did 2007 an exchange year at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Istanbul (Turkey) with focus on fine arts. Based in Graz he found the Agency in Biosphere, a transdisciplinary practice to act between art, ecology, science and the Biosphere. Projects: „Line-Flight Graz-Maribor“ (2012) with video installations at Kunsthaus Graz (AT) and Vitrijnski dvor Maribor (SI) and „Untitled (Perpetuum Mobile)“ (2013) shown at the group exhibition „Measures to rescue the world part_2“ at < rotor > Center for contemporary art Graz (AT).

Régine Debatty is a writer, curator and critic, and founder of we-make-money-not-art.com. Régine contributes to several European design and art magazines, and lectures internationally about the way artists, hackers and designers use science as a medium for critical discussion. Régine has a weekly radio programme called A.I.L. (Artists in Laboratories) on Resonance104.4fm in London, and is the co-author of the ‘sprint book’, New Art/Science Affinities, published by Carnegie Mellon University. She is also an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Art in London.

Petko Dourmana is an artist working with technology and new media. His artistic interest is focused on exploring human perceptions and abilities for communication trough the advantages as well as disadvantages of new technologies.

Szilvia Nagy is an emerging researcher, writer and curator from Budapest, Hungary. She is a PhD Candidate in Film, Media and Culture Studies PhD Program, Department of Philosophy at the Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest. The provisional title for her research thesis is “Inclusive Museums in Eastern Europe: Social Networks and Institutional Transformation in the Field of Art” and her research focuses on the transforming institutional background of the art field, especially the structural changes and their analysis by the means of network theories. Her interest in the institutional transformations are closely related with her curatorial approach to present and organise reflexive exhibitions, actions, symposiums and workshops on the new developments of institutional critique (actions, public movements, public engagements), and to estimate her curatorial projects with her academic interests.
Her curatorial experience is including her work as a project manager and curator at the Miskolc Institute of Contemporary Art (M.ICA) between 2008-2012.

Azahara Cerezo is a Spanish visual artist working mainly on social changes, social movements, physical and virtual public space and the connections of these elements with power. She works with audiovisual and new media and her projects are mostly shown as real-time interactive installations, experimental videos and ephemeral actions on the Internet.

Matthias Kispert is an artist and electronic music composer and performer living in London. His work encompasses public intervention, installation, documentary, composition with found sound, improvisation and electronic music. As audio director of media artist collective D-Fuse, he is responsible for the sound aspect and the conceptual development of much of the group’s work, including videos, installations and live cinema performances.

Carmen Salas is a creative producer and curator working at the intersection of art, technology and culture. She is responsible for the artistic vision and strategic development of Alpha-ville, a London-based organisation that connects the fields of art, technology and digital culture through events and a webzine at alpha-ville.co.uk.From 2009 to 2013, Carmen has conceived, produced, and consulted on projects with the British Film Institute, Whitechapel Gallery, V&A Digital Design Weekend, Hackney Empire Theatre, Microsoft and Athens Video Art Festival among others. She is currently working on a new series of events in collaboration with Kings Place and Rich Mix Arts Centre in London.

Andrej Boleslavsky is an interaction designer and new media artist with 10 years of professional experience. He is currently working as an artist and researcher for CIANT – International Centre for Art and New Technologies. In his own projects he focuses on the creating of artworks using a wide range of new media technologies, elements of experimental games, generative art and physical computing. These are also topics on which he lectures in workshops organized by various study programs. Recently, he participated in the Cellsbutton#5 media festival. He curated exhibitions TransGenesis : Global Players and Square vision focused on game art and co-curated festival Enter5: Datapolis. His specialization in the field of programming includes knowledge of media platforms such as VVVV and Arduino which he uses to develop interactive artworks.

Sabin Bors is an independent editor and contemporary art, architecture and design critic. He is the curator of Anti-Utopias, a thematically structured contemporary art platform, and initiator of FutureMuseums, an investigation in museum studies. In February 2013 he curated the Accumulations exhibition at Galerie Sherin Najjar in Berlin. In April 2013 he was selected in the curatorial advisory committee of Moving Image London 2013 video art fair. Interested in contemporary art and philosophy, architecture and design, digital media and photography, Sabin Bors worked as associate editor for Igloo magazine, collaborator for Arhitext magazine, and is a former member of the ArhiForum editorial staff. He is the founder and President of Xpose Art Collective, a cultural not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting non-conventional and cross-combination means of expression that has been envisioned as an independent digital publishing agency.

Jan Vormann fills in gaps, holes and clefts in walls and streets, public buildings and private houses with plastic bricks, mostly with Lego. For his Berlin series of „Dispatchwork“ he selected buildings still damaged from World War II. „The Lego brick has a nostalgic value amongst different generations worldwide, but at the same time it is all up to date.

Isin Önol is a curator based in Vienna. She worked as the director and curator at Proje4L/Elgiz Museum of Contemporary Art, Istanbul, between 2006 and 2009. After having studied at a number of curatorial study programs in South Korea, France, and Zurich, she has been mainly residing in Vienna where she works independently and pursues her PhD degree at the Department of Cultural Studies, University of Applied Arts since 2010. In 2012 she co-curated the “Media-Scape 2012, Biennial for Time Based Art”, Zagreb, and “Sinopale 2012, 4th International Sinop Biennale”, for which she has generated the conceptual framework under the title “Wisdom of Shadow: Art in the Era of Corrupted Information”.
Her primary research interests are curatorial and artistic occupation with notions of darkness, shadow, invisibility, absence, in generating strategies for participation and transmitting information, as well as the concepts of censorship, discrimination, and otherness in relation to the invisible layers of societies dealing with shadow figures.

Martin Bricelj Baraga is a media artist and freelance curator. His interactive works, audiovisual performances and collaborative work research the relation between man and machine, social aspects of contemporary pop culture, future monumentalism and political dimensions of our mediated realities.He has exhibited in many galleries and spaces worldwide: ICA in London, Sonar in Barcelona, Columbia University in New York, FACT Liverpool, Kinetica ArtFair, Centro cultural Recoleta in Buenos Aires, Kunsthaus Graz, Kaapelithas in Helsinki, Museums Quartier in Vienna and many others. His work has been reviewed and published by Wired, boingboing.net, Pecha Kucha, the New York Art magazine, Harper Collins, El Pais, Actar, Mladina and others,…He is the founder of SONICA Festival in Ljubljana and director of MoTA – Museum of Transitory Art.

Neja Tomšič is a visual artist and writer from Ljubljana. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Primorska, specialising in art cinema and documentary practices in contemporary art. In 2006 she co-founded MoTA – Museum of Transitory Art in Ljubljana together with Martin Bricelj Baraga and has been working as a producer, project manager, researcher and visual arts program director there since.

Chrystalleni Loizidou is an art historian with previous work in creative strategy, a background in cultural studies and design theory, and an interest in the digital humanities. Her current research focuses on public art and political communication, while her practice has tended to involve technological, collaborative experiments in self-organisation and community building. Among other things she has worked as co-editor for the online multimedia journal STATIC (the London Consortium, 2008) and for a brief spell as archivist (The Archive Project, NIMAC, Cyprus 2007). She was chief organiser for THATCamp Cyprus 2011 (The Humanities and Technology Camp), and she is co-director of Re Aphrodite, an on-going collaborative initiative that explores social paradoxes through research that is related to curatorial, educational, and creative practice. She is currently working with Point Centre for Contemporary Art, Cyprus.

Luka Zagoričnik has been writing about music, organising concerts, sound-events, giving and organising lectures, preparing radio and TV programmes, working as a journalist, writing reviews, articles and essays for various newspapers and other publications for over 10 years. He has been working for one of the oldest independent radio stations in Europe, the Radio Študent – during the last 5 years as the Music Editor. He writes for the newspaper Delo, the internet newspaper Odzven, the monthly music magazine Muska and for the weekly Mladina, to name only a few. For several years he has been a presenter, journalist and music critic with the Slovenian national television RTV Slovenija. During the last years he is organising a series of lectures and sound-events of contemporary experimental music Bitshift in the Gallery Kapelica in Ljubljana. Since 2005 he is the head of a smaller independent record label for experimental music L’Innomable. He lives and works in Ljubljana.

Achilleas Kentonis studied Engineering, Physics and Fine Arts in the University of South Alabama, USA and at the Universidad de Castilla la Mancha, Spain. Mastering Innovation & Design Thinking, at MIT, Boston, USA. As a researcher / scientist he participated in research programs at NASA, the Cyprus University and the Aegean University. As a  researcher/artist presents papers in conferences and scientific journals, related to electro-magnetics of the human body, geopathic stress, creation of new electro-acoustic musical instruments, research on the perpetual, telekinesis, social and philosophical issues.

Hrvoje Hrišl was born 1982 in Dubrovnik. He graduated at the Art Academy in Split, the Department of Visual Communication and Design in 2009. Currently, he is attending graduate studies at the Media Art Histories Donau-Universität Krems, Austria, under the direction of Oliver Grau. He lives and works in Zagreb. He has been exhibiting his works since 2010.

Ekmel Ertan works as artist, curator and educator. Ertan is the founder and artistic director of İstanbul based amberPlatform (by BIS, Beden-İşlemsel Sanatlar Derneği / Body-Process Arts Association), which is a research and production platform on art and new technologies. Ertan is the curator of the international “amber Art and Technology Festival” in Istanbul since 2007. He curated also international amberPlatform exhibitions and performances. He is the initiator of amberConference, the only Science, Technology and Art Conference in Turkey. Ertan is also working as the site coordinator and director for several international projects based in Turkey and Europe in the field of art and technology / new media and society.

Matthias Kispert is an artist and electronic music composer and performer working in London. His work encompasses sound, video, audio-visual live performance, improvisation, installation and interventions in public space. As a member of artist collective D-Fuse, he is responsible the sound aspect and involved in the conceptual development of much of the group’s work. He regularly collaborates or performs with a range of artists including Quayola, United Visual Artists, Bart Hess, Steve Beresford and Blanca Regina. His work and collaborations have been shown at MU, STRP, Sonic Acts (Netherlands), Get It Louder, HK Arts Centre, I/O Gallery (China), Moscow Architecture Biennale (Russia), LEV (Spain), USC, TriBeCa Film Festival and Eyebeam (US), Royal Festival Hall, onedotzero, AV Festival, ISEA (UK), EMAF (Germany), Itaú Cultural, FILE, Multiplicidade (Brazil), among others. He is a lecturer in Sound Art at the University of Arts London.

Babis Venetopoulos was born in Thessaloniki in 1973. He studied Painting at the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki. He holds a Master in Digital Arts from the Athens School of Fine Arts. His art projects have been shown in many exhibitions and festivals. Lives and works in Thessaloniki the Ghost City (work in progress).

UTOPIA IN TRANSITION: WHAT IS TRANSITORY ART?

Symposium at the ARTos Foundation - 11 & 12 October 2013

In accordance with TRIBE’s mission to foster long lasting connections and a collaborative methodology, artists, curators and researchers will meet at ARTos Foundation in Nicosia. The meeting will include presentations of all participants, as well as work sessions with curators, project development, critiques and discussions and informal program. The aim of this meeting is to provide a sense of collaboration on the project as well as to develop project and research concepts and provide information and insight into the background of all those involved.

The public part of the program consists of project presentations addressing the question what is transitory art?  These will be followed by discussions with researchers and curators.  The concept of transitory art forms a backbone for all participating organisations, with the common overall ideas being:

- transitory art as a convergence of new media and contemporary art,
- transitory art as art emerging in countries in transition,
- transitory art as art reflecting the hyper-mobility of artists and cultural workers and their consequential production modes.

The panel presentations and discussions will each present a specific aspect of artistic practice reflecting these three main phenomena from the viewpoint of concrete practices and projects to be realised during the residencies. 

By introducing the term 'transitory art' we aim at rethinking the model of thought on contemporary and intermedia art, by shifting to horizontal progress, non-hierarchy, theory through practice, politics through poetics, education through experience, transition as medium etc.

ABOUT TRIBE

T.R.I.B.E. is a platform established to connect media-labs and artist-in-residency spaces in East Europe and the Balkans. All organizations involved are making the first steps to build AIR programs for production and research for experimental, digital and research art. The network encourages exchange between these places as well as production and touring of international transitory artworks. All believe in building the infrastructure for artistic research, production and representation with the purpose to revitalize the either closed or just unfamiliar artistic scenes of the so called East. With the planned strategy of targeted actions TRIBE aims to fulfill the following mission:

• to connect organisations in East Europe and the Balkans,
• to establish new AIR programs in the region and to improve existing ones,
• to conduct research on transitory art and produce new transitory artworks.

Ουτοπία σε μετάβαση: Τι είναι η μεταβατική τέχνη(transitory art);

Συμπόσιο στο Ίδρυμα ARTos - 11 & 12 Οκτωβρίου 2013

Σύμφωνα με το σκοπό του TRIBE για την προώθηση μακροχρόνιων συνδέσεων και μιας μεθοδολογίας συνεργασίας, καλλιτέχνες, επιμελητές και ερευνητές θα συναντηθούν στο Ίδρυμα ARTos.  Η συνάντηση αυτή περιλαμβάνει παρουσιάσεις των συμμετεχόντων, συνεδρίες εργασίας με τους επιμελητές, ανάπτυξη έργων, κριτικές και συζητήσεις.  Στόχος της συνάντησης είναι να παρέχει μιαν αίσθηση συνεργασίας στο έργο καθώς και να αναπτύξει το έργο και την έννοια της έρευνας, καθώς και να παρέχει πληροφορίες για το πλαίσιο των εμπλεκομένων.

Το μέρος του προγράμματος που είναι ανοικτό προς το κοινό αποτελείται από παρουσιάσεις που θέτουν το ερώτημα τι είναι η μεταβατική τέχνη;

Θα ακολουθήσουν συζητήσεις με ερευνητές και επιμελητές.  Η έννοια της μεταβατικής τέχνης αποτελεί τον σκελετό όλων των συμμετεχόντων οργανισμών, με τις γενικές κοινές ιδέες τις ακόλουθες:

• Η μεταβατική τέχνη ως σύγκλιση νέων μέσων και σύγχρονης τέχνης
• Η μεταβατική τέχνη ως αναδυόμενη τέχνη σε χώρες που βρίσκονται σε μεταβατικό στάδιο
• Η μεταβατική τέχνη ως τέχνη που αντανακλά την υπερκινητικότητα καλλιτεχνών και πολιτιστικών παραγωγών και οι τρόποι παραγωγής τους

Στις παρουσιάσεις και συζητήσεις του πάνελ ο καθένας θα παρουσιάσει μια συγκεκριμένη πτυχή της καλλιτεχνικής πρακτικής αντανακλώντας αυτά τα τρία φαινόμενα από την άποψη συγκεκριμένων πρακτικών και έργων που θα υλοποιηθούν μέσα από τις καλλιτεχνικές φιλοξενίες (artist residencies). 

Εισάγοντας τον όρο μεταβατική τέχνη αποσκοπούμε την αναθεώρηση του μοντέλου σκέψης για τη σύγχρονη και intermedia τέχνη, με τη στροφή προς την οριζόντια προσέγγιση, χωρίς ιεραρχία, θεωρία μέσα από την πρακτική, πολιτική μέσα από την ποίηση, παιδεία μέσα από την εμπειρία, μετάβαση σαν μέσο κτλ.

Για το πρόγραμμα TRIBE

Το TRIBE είναι μια πλατφόρμα που δημιουργήθηκε για να συνδέσει media-labs και καλλιτεχνικές φιλοξενίες σε χώρους στην Ανατολική Ευρώπη και τα Βαλκάνια.  Όλοι οι εμπλεκόμενοι οργανισμοί κάνουν τα πρώτα βήματα για να κτίσουν προγράμματα καλλιτεχνικής φιλοξενίας για την παραγωγή και έρευνα πειραματικής, ψηφιακής και ερευνητικής τέχνης.  Το δίκτυο ενθαρρύνει την ανταλλαγή μεταξύ αυτών των χώρων καθώς και την παραγωγή και περιοδεία διεθνών transitory art έργων.  Όλοι πιστεύουν στη δημιουργία υποδομής για καλλιτεχνική έρευνα, παραγωγή και εκπροσώπηση με το σκοπό την αναζωογόνηση κλειστών ή απλά άγνωστων καλλιτεχνικών σκηνών της λεγόμενης Ανατολής.  Με την προγραμματισμένη και στοχευμένη στρατηγική δράσεων, το TRIBE θέλει να υλοποιήσει τα ακόλουθα:

• Να συνδέσει οργανισμούς στην Ανατολική Ευρώπη και τα Βαλκάνια
• Να δημιουργήσει νέα προγράμματα καλλιτεχνικών φιλοξενιών στην περιοχή και να βελτιώσει τα υπάρχοντα
• Να διεξάγει έρευνα για τη μεταβατική τέχνη και να παράγει νέα έργα μεταβατικής τέχνης

Το TRIBE δημιουργήθηκε σαν πρωτοβουλία του ΜοΤΑ (Λιουμπλιάνα) σε συνεργασία με τη CIANT (Πράγα), το Ίδρυμα ARTos (Λευκωσία) και BIS – Body Arts Association (Κωνσταντινούπολη).

Μετά την επιτυχία των προηγούμενων χρόνων, τo X-Dream Festival επιστρέφει για πέμπτη συνεχή χρονιά.  Μετά από το ταξίδι στο Φεστιβάλ Αθηνών & Επιδαύρου 2013 στην Ελλάδα και το Φεστιβάλ BMOTION  του Opera Estate στην Ιταλία, το 5o X-Dream Festival ξεκινά με την επίκαιρη παράσταση «Στη χώρα των θ_υμάτων», την Πέμπτη 17 και Παρασκευή 18 Οκτωβρίου και ώρα 20:30 στο Ίδρυμα ARTos. 

To έργο “Στη χώρα των θ_υμάτων” είναι ένα σόλο χοροθεατρικό κομμάτι, που αφορά την Κύπρο σαν χώρα, σαν κοινωνία. Ένα έργο για αυτούς που μπορούν να κάνουν θαύματα, αλλά γίνονται θ_ύματα. Η παρασταση πραγματεύεται τα κακώς έχοντα της κοινωνίας της Κύπρου και τη συμπεριφορά των πολιτικών της.  Η δίψα για εξουσία, οι πολιτικές και κοινωνικές ευθύνες είναι καθημερινά αντιμέτωπες με την ανάγκη του απλού πολίτη για επιβίωση.

Η χορογράφος αναφέρει για την παράσταση:

«Είμαι η Ελεάνα Αλεξάνδρου κι έχω βαθιές ανησυχίες και μια έντονη έγνοια για τον τόπο όπου αποφάσισα να ζω (προς το παρόν).  Θέλω να μιλήσω με ειλικρίνεια.  Θα φτιάξω ένα κομμάτι με σατιρική διάθεση για τη Κύπρο σαν χώρα, σαν κοινωνία, σαν δημο-κρατία.  Ένα κομμάτι για τη φύση, τους καλλιτέχνες, την καλλιτεχνική φύση.  Τους μαύρους, τους γκέι, τους ανάπηρους, τους χοντρούς, τους κοντούς, τους γέρους, ένα κομμάτι για τους γονείς και τα παιδιά, για τα ζώα και τη ζωή... Θέλω να γίνω μονάρχης της Κύπρου.»

Following the success of previous years, X-Dream Festival returns for the fifth consecutive year.  After its journey to the Athens & Epidaurus Festival 2013 in Greece and the BMOTION Festival by Opera Estate in Italy, this year the festival begins with the performance “In Wonder(?) Land” on Thursday 17 and Friday 18 October at 20:30 at the ARTos Foundation.

“In Wonder(?) Land” is a physical theatre performance, about Cyprus as a country, a society. It is a work about what can become a miracle but turns out to be a victim instead. This performance deals with the incongruities of the Cypriot society and the behaviour of the politicians.  The thirst for power, the political and social responsibilities are in consant conflict with the need of the typical citizen for survival.

The choreographer says about the performance:

«I am Eleana Alexandrou and I am deeply worried and concerned about the place where I have chosen to live (for now).  I want to speak with honesty.  I have created a satirical performance about Cyprus as a country, a society, a democracy.  A performance about nature, artists, artistic nature; about black people, gay people, the disabled, the fat, the short, the old; about parents and children, life and living things... I want to be the ruler of Cyprus.»

Unusual Suspects

Το 5o X-Dream Festival συνεχίζει με την παράσταση Unusual Suspects σε χορογραφία και ερμηνεία της Eύης Δημητρίου, που θα πραγματοποιηθεί το Σάββατο 12 Οκτωβρίου στο Ίδρυμα ARTos.  Η παράσταση είχε πρεμιέρα στην Πλατφόρμα Σύγχρονου Χορού 2012 και από τότε έχει παρουσιαστεί σε φεστιβάλ στην Ιρλανδία, Ρουμανία, Λετονία, Σουηδία.

Η παράσταση Unusual Suspects διερευνά την ανάγκη μας για εξιδανικευμένες σχέσεις και τον φόβο μας για μοναξιά.  Παράλληλα, εξετάζει το θέμα των ορίων ανάμεσα στον περφόρμερ και τον θεατή, προκαλώντας την περφόρμερ να παραμείνει ανοιχτή και ευέλικτη στις αντιδράσεις του κοινού οι οποίες συνδιαμορφώνουν την "παρά-σταση". 

Έχει ξεχωρίσει για την διαδραστικότητα της και το ρίσκο της αφού ο θεατής προσκαλείτε να συμμετέχει στην ίδια παράσταση με αποτέλεσμα η κάθε παράσταση να είναι ξεχωριστή.

The 5^th X-Dream Festival continues with the performance Unusual Suspects choreographed and performed by Evie Demetriou, which will take place on Saturday 12 October at the ARTos Foundation.  The performance premiered at the Cyprus Contemporary Dance Platform 2012 and since then it has been presented at festivals in Ireland, Romania, Latvia and Sweden. 

The performance Unusual Suspects explores the need and desire for an ideal partner and an ideal relationship and the fear of being alone.  At the same time it questions the limit between performer and audience, while challenging the performance structure to be flexible and to be modified through the audience response.

It has been set apart due to its interactivity and risk, as the viewer is invited to take part in the performance resulting in each performance being unique.
