Τα Δεκάχρονα του Moving Silence

Μια βραδιά αφιερωμένη στη σύγχρονη κινούμενη εικόνα  και τον πειραματικό ήχο.

Σε συνέχεια της μεγάλης επιτυχίας του Moving Silence στην Κύπρο τα τελευταία εννέα χρόνια στο ARTos, το Moving Silence πραγματοποιείται φέτος για δέκατη συνεχή χρονιά σε συνεργασία με το Ινστιτούτο Γκαίτε.  Την Κυριακή, 1  Νοεμβρίου 2020 στις 20:30 στο ARTos, μουσικοί και συνθέτες θα συναντηθούν για να ερμηνεύσουν ζωντανά στο κοινό μουσική που συνέθεσαν ειδικά για ταινίες χωρίς ήχο σύγχρονων δημιουργών της επιλογής τους.  Οι θεατές θα έχουν μια μοναδική εμπειρία όπου οι μουσικοί ερμηνεύουν ζωντανά τη μουσική τους ενώ γίνεται παράλληλη προβολή της ταινίας που επέλεξαν και τους ενέπνευσε.  Η εκδήλωση θα μεταδοθεί ζωντανά θα μεταδοθεί ζωντανά στον ιστότοπο του Φεστιβαλ  Freiraum (www.freiraumfestival.eu), όπου θεατές σε όλη την Ευρώπη θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να συνδεθούν και να απολαύσουν τη ζωντανή παράσταση.

Κάθε ύφος εικόνας μπορεί να ωφεληθεί από τη γλώσσα του ήχου, ψηφιακού ή αναλογικού. Οι ζωντανές παραστάσεις ενισχύουν τα φιλμς καθώς οι μουσικοί μπορούν να φέρουν μια νέα πνοή ζωής στον “βωβό” κινηματογράφο, που, δυστυχώς, έμεινε σιωπηλός για πολύ καιρό. Ενθαρρύνοντας τη συνεργασία και ανταλλαγή μεταξύ μουσικών, καλλιτεχνών και κινηματογραφιστών, και αφήνοντας χώρο στο ζωντανό αυτοσχεδιασμό, η πλατφόρμα Moving Silence καλεί  το κοινό να έρθει σε επαφή με νέες οπτικοακουστικές εμπειρίες, όπου ο ήχος και η εικόνα θα συναντηθούν με ασυνήθιστο και απροσδόκητο τρόπο.

Τι είναι το Moving Silence;

Η πλατφόρμα κινηματογραφιστών και μουσικών Moving Silence  ιδρύθηκε το 2009 στο Βερολίνο από τον μουσικό Marco Brosolo, τον κινηματογραφιστή Matthias Fritsch και τον παραγωγό Federico Bassetti με σκοπό να συνδέσει τις ρίζες του κινηματογράφου με την αισθητική της σύγχρονης εικόνας, τη ζωντανή παραγωγή μουσικής και πιθανές νέες τεχνολογίες. Είναι μια ποιητική, διαπολιτισμική προσπάθεια συνεργασίας σε μία εποχή υπερφορτωμένη με πληροφορίες.  Αγκαλιάζει τον πειραματισμό και τη συγχώνευση μεταξύ σύγχρονων μορφών οπτικής και ηχητικής. Εκδηλώσεις του Moving Silence έχουν οργανωθεί σε διαφορετικές ευρωπαϊκές πόλεις.

 

Τι είναι το Φεστιβάλ Freiraum;

Το Φεστιβάλ Freiraum (30 / 10-01 / 11) φέρνει κοντά όλους τους στοχαστές και τους ανθρώπους στον πολιτισμό, καθώς και τις τέχνες από όλη την Ευρώπη. Με περισσότερες από 20  εκδηλώσεις σε όλη την Ευρώπη, 30 ομιλητές και 10 έργα τέχνης ειδικά σχεδιασμένα σε διαδικτυακή μορφή, το Φεστιβάλ δεν ανταποκρίνεται μόνο στη νέα  πραγματικότητα εν μέσω πανδημίας, αλλά και στα κρίσιμα ερωτήματα της εποχής μας.

An evening dedicated to contemporary “silent” moving image and experimental sound.

Following the great success of Moving Silence in Cyprus for the past nine years at ARTos, Moving Silence takes place for the tenth consecutive year in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut Cyprus. On Sunday, 1 November 2020 at 20:30 at ARTos, musicians and composers will meet to perform live soundtracks for silent video and film works by contemporary creators of their choice.  The audience will have a unique experience where the musicians-composers perform live their music while the films/videos that have inspired them are simultaneously screened. The event will be streamed live also through the Freiraum Festival (www.freiraumfestival.eu), where audiences around Europe will have the opportunity to connect and enjoy the event live.   

 

"Any visual style can profit from a sound language, by using advanced digital technologies as well as old analogue techniques. Live performances sustain and amplify the films as musicians can breathe new life into silent cinema, which inappropriately remained silent for such a long time." Encouraging collaboration and exchange between musicians, artists and cinematographers, the Moving Silence platform, therefore, invites the Cyprus audience to new audiovisual experiences expressed through live improvisations and interpretations, where experimental image and sound are expected to meet in unusual and unexpected ways.

 

What is Moving Silence?

Moving Silence was originally founded in the summer of 2009 by the musician Marco Brosolo, filmmaker Matthias Fritsch and producer Federico Bassetti with the aim to create events that connect the roots of cinematography with the present aesthetics of image, the live music production and the potential of new technology. It constitutes a poetic, intercultural and collaborative attempt in times of information overload. It embraces experimentation and merging between contemporary forms of visual and sound inviting artists from different parts of the world to join in. Moving Silence events have taken place in different cities around Europe.

 

What is the Freiraum Festival?

The Freiraum Festival(30/10-01/11) is a collaborative, decentralised democratised festival taking place simultaneously in the physical and the digital worlds. With more than 20 local events around Europe, more than 30 speakers and contributors and more than 10 art works especially produced for the online format, the Festival format does not only respond to the new -pandemic reality, but to the crucial questions of our time.
