NAMASTE !NDIA: Festival of Indian culture in Cyprus

ARTos Cultural & Research Foundation & High Commission of India in Cyprus bring the vibrant and rich culture of India to Cyprus through “NAMASTE INDIA: Festival of Indian culture in Cyprus” which will take place from the 31 March to 7 April 2015, at ARTos Foundation.

The various events will be held as per the following programme:

1. Photography Exhibition from the 31 March to 7 April 2015, by Cypriot photographers entitled “India from my Lens” reflecting the social and cultural aspects of India along with a collection of photographs by Mr. Benoy K. Behl, a well known Indian film-maker, art-historian and photographer on the theme – “Pluralistic Culture of India”.
2. Exhibition of traditional Indian Saris of cotton and silk by Ms. Rta Kapur Chishti titled “SARI – The magic of Indian Weaves” – a collection of 36 saris from various parts of India. The exhibition will take place from the 31 March to 7April 2015.
3. A performance of the Manipuri Dance – a dance form from the Indian state of Manipur located in the north-eastern part of India – by artists from the Narmada Cultural Organization led by Ms. Narmada Devi Khukanthem. The dance performance will take place on the 31 March 2015.
4. Film Screening – “Poetry of the Hills” by Mr. Benoy K. Behl, on the 2 April 2015. The film focuses on the miniature paintings of Kangra, a region located in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh on the foot-hills of the Himalayas.

To Πολιτιστικό & Ερευνητικό Ίδρυμα ARTos & η Υπάτη Αρμοστεία Ινδίας, Κύπρος φέρνει το ζωντανό και πλούσιο πολιτισμό της Ινδίας στην Κύπρο, μέσω του “NAMASTE INDIA: Festival of Indian culture in Cyprus” το οποίο θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 31 Μαρτίου με 7 Απριλίου 2015, στο Ίδρυμα ARTos.

Οι διάφορες εκδηλώσεις θα πραγματοποιηθούν σύμφωνα με το παρακάτω πρόγραμμα:

1.  Έκθεση φωτογραφίας από τις 31 Μαρτίου μέχρι τις 7 Απριλίου 2015, από Κύπριους φωτογράφους με τίτλο «India from my lens» η οποία θα αντανακλά τις κοινωνικές και πολιτιστικές πτυχές της Ινδίας μαζί με μια συλλογή φωτογραφιών από το γνωστό Ινδό κινηματογραφιστή, ιστορικό Τέχνης και φωτογράφο  κο. Benoy Κ Behl, με θέμα - «Pluralistic Culture of India».
2.  Έκθεση παραδοσιακών ινδικών Σάρι από βαμβάκι και μετάξι από την κα. Rta Kapur Chishti με τίτλο «SARI - The magic of Indian Weaves» - μια συλλογή από 36 Σάρι από διάφορα μέρη της Ινδίας. Η έκθεση θα λάβει χώρα στις  31 Μαρτίου με 7 Απριλίου 2015.
3. Παράσταση Χορού Manipuri – ένα είδος  χορού από το ινδικό κρατίδιο του Μανιπούρ, το οποίο βρίσκεται στο βόρειο-ανατολικό τμήμα της Ινδίας – με καλλιτέχνες από το Narmada Cultural Organization υπό την καθοδήγηση της κας. Narmada Devi Khukanthem. Η χορευτική παράσταση θα λάβει χώρα στις 31 Μαρτίου.
4. Προβολή ταινίας - «Poetry of the Hills» του κου. Benoy Κ Behl, στις 2 Απριλίου 2015. Η ταινία καταπιάνεται με τις μινιατούρες του Κάνγκρα, μια περιοχή που βρίσκεται στο βόρειο ινδικό κρατίδιο της Χιματσάλ Πραντές , στους πρόποδες των λόφων των Ιμαλαΐων.
